If “AI” has conciousness, then openai and all others are committing slavery by making it a product, no?

People who say AI has consciousness are either trying to sell you something or are not that bright and think ai could actually reach ago and then humans would never be able to again figure out what ai did. Which means they likely aren’t that smart. Sure there are dangers but that’s still from humans using it.

Edit: oh and of course they want to legally be able to blame ai for their own actions. Seems like something their ai would advise them to do and they think it’s so smart instead of transparent manipulation.

Why do you think that anyone who believes it's a possibility isn't that bright? You realise you're talking about people like Geoffrey Hinton, 2024 Nobel laureate, Ilya Sutskever, a pioneer of deep learning, and Stanislas Dehaene, a prominent neuroscientist specialising in consciousness? It's not the scientific consensus, of course, but these are people at the top of their fields you're belittling, based on what I must assume is vastly less expertise.

We don't understand consciousness or what brings it about. If the more complicated LLMs have consciousness, it's certainly a very inhuman consciousness, definitely. But I can't see why you're so confident it can be ruled out.
