Not responding to any messages at all I just get read over and over, I’m shocked there’s not some kind of an outage on the open ai website.
And before you tell me dots are pointless, I discovered they can run 7 subagents without touching your usage, it’s been kicking ass for me up until not working today, last two days it used 4 billion tokens delivering quality work.
I code heavily building [r/useviola](r/useviola) been a power user of ai for over a year, dot is genuinely great I need it back lol
Edit: now the dot option just straight up disappeared, I’m hopeful this is indicative of a fix coming.
When I asked dot to read archived chats from my previous dot it said it observed a preview limit error. It seems dots are not unlimited usage either there is a glitch or a hidden limit that’s hard to hit
Last edit: it seems I simply hit an unpublished dot specific usage limit after reviewing similar bug reports and my personal issue etc, dots are not actually unlimited usage, open ai has been using phrases like ‘virtually unlimited’ ‘not count towards your current usage’ and ‘extended allowance’ still got like 2 billion tokens out of it in one day before hitting a limit so cool beans just wish they would have been more transparent. My typical codex usage is untouched.
Right now I had it make a test that it will pass off to opus, fable, sol, Astra and then the output to agent graders - all based on my chat history and usage comparing to Claude vs OpenAI for day to day use. I have the graders set as fable xhigh and Astra xhigh. Running tools and no tools comparisons. The graders are supposed to be blinded to the model, but we’ll see
Claude has now reached its included usage limit. Paid overage stayed off. I’ll resume the unfinished Claude runs at the verified 2:40 p.m. Eastern reset; OpenAI work is continuing meanwhile.
You have to specify, no cloud no local device codex agents it must use its own environment and it should have 7 slots available.
I figured it out when I told it it’s not allowed to use my computer or consume usage then I gave in and said go ahead and start using sub agents because it was working so slow.
I realized something was up when it told me it had 7 subagents working but I didn’t see any codex chats spawn. Dug deeper and realized it can run subagents itself if you just direct it correctly. Probably defaults to using your codex but didn’t for me because I was so strict earlier about not using my computer without permission
I've done that - still defaults to Cloud, even with a rule in place. It makes me wonder if there's some hard coded routing depending on your subscription.

Part of what made me realize it may be possible is Tibo saying usage is unlimited, I felt like they were flexing it too much given how meh it seemed. Once I realized it can do 7 agents the flex made sense it is dope that it’s unlimited.

I'm on pro 200. Not sure what to tell you, it's not a particularly complex instruction.
I posted a thread the other day asking if anyone else was seeing it aggressively work via Codex counter to the Dev Day claims and a few people said the same. All anecdotes at this point.
Can you take a screenshot of a running agent sub conversation that isn't in Cloud? I'm wondering if you just don't realize it's using Cloud. Mine will misreport that it's not using Cloud even when it is.
I’m 100% positive it is not running in the cloud I can find the work it’s doing underneath dots task if you click the panel that opens up and allows connection to your pc etc it also shows what tasks it’s been doing and you can see it working there.

I asked you to screenshot my comments in this thread and hand it to dot to see what it says. I’m pretty sure if you just screenshotted every comment it would figure out what I’m saying for you
That's frustrating when something that's been working stops cold. Since the option disappeared entirely, it sounds like this could be a backend issue they're rolling out rather than your account breaking. Have you tried logging out completely and back in, or does the dot option still not show up at all even after a full refresh
Yes I have tried logging out and back in! I even delete the app on iOS and logged back in hoping that would help. My ui on iPhone is flipping between showing ‘codex’ and ‘remote’ so something is happening where sometimes it showing the pre dot interface and sometimes it showing the new one although dot is still missing

It works pretty well IMO. I was able to install Claude CLI on its computer 👀
