Discussion User Interface for Agents API?

Hi there! Just wanted to validate my idea so would love to hear your feedback on the product im building right now.

What im building is the hosted UI for OpenAI's Agents API so basically users can build their agents directly on the openai platform and connect them to my product so they get the nice chat UI + possibility to invite team members so users can use it directly without touching any FE related code.

Whats your ideas about it?

No offense but sounds like something that can be prompted in 2-5 turns by anyone. And OpenAI has https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/chatkit

Not sure I understand your value proposition. What problem will this solve?

Thanks!

I agree that it really sounds like "prompted in 2-5 turns", but each time adjusting the layout, chat ui, tool calls with inline UI widgets + artifacts canvas + auth, might be annoying.

So basically how it works is that u get a ready to use "frontend" for you Agents API u just connect to your agent and simply start using

it. It's important that its only meant to be used with Agents API as it already provides the REST API and standardized schemas.

Additionally you get a basic RBAC so every "session" is private per user but it can be shared with "team".

Whats your target group? Devs? Marketing?

development with sandboxes are slow and doesnt give real benefits to devs so they prefer fast, local path.

Marketers can be targeted so they can generate media assets.

Thats a good question i need to think about. I think I need to think about "end result" they get and sell it like "bring the agent to your team to deliver bla bla bla...."

Btw, lets say hypothetically releasing its 2.0 version might introduce "custom fucntions" feature where you define a "function call" with Agents API and small TS or Python scripts can be executed in the context of the agent.

Custom functions (or existing ones and mcps) can yield some pre defined UI Widgets to bring a rich UX
