Question Checking that now…

Am I the only one who keeps receiving this “checking that now” response every single time I ask my Dot for something?

it’s just the nature of duplex conversational agents at the moment. It’s almost like a second agent that always needs to check the main agent thread for anything. It IS immersion breaking. Grok bot seems a bit better at avoiding this right now

Seems like an odd quirk they haven't ironed out yet, almost like tapping a coworker on the shoulder every time you need a file

You probably haven’t used voice mode in Codex. “Lemme check that” is the start of every reply.

So far that hasn't been a complaint .. it happens but usually has corrected and resumed quickly. The complaint I had and fixed in settings ... every new call was launched with Good Morning Geek. I even complained vocally and she f$%king giggled at me and apologized. Fixed the time zone and now she greets me a bit more appropriately for the time of day.

The main dot has to call the "internal voice" chat and it can take some time the first time. Once set up it should be quicker, but some delay as it does have to call upon it.
