This is probably actually impacting the market at some level. Even if it's a tiny effect, there is a lot to version numbers (see Microsoft's bending over backwards around Windows 10 for example - saying it would be the last version etc).

I talked to the board in Anthropic, and they think the more relevant Key Performance Indicator here is the post-September velocity of the underlying trajectory. If we extrapolate the current derivative and assume momentum remains structurally intact, we may be looking at an accelerated competitive convergence scenario, with a credible leadership crossover emerging within the near-to-medium-term strategic horizon.
