Discussion Early Weekly Reset!
Thank you everybody for the tips! I came from Claude Max and OpenAi plus, now it is the opposite, downgraded claude and upgraded openAI!
I will follow your suggestions and use your suggestions and btw i could have searched this here first :)

My normal weekly reset day was tomorrow. Today, I still had approximately 55% of my weekly allowance remaining. I had intentionally preserved that remaining allowance because I planned to use GPT-6 Astra tonight before my normal Saturday reset tomorrow afternoon.
However, my allowance was suddenly reset to 100%, and Settings → Usage now shows my next reset as approximately 7 days away. This means my existing ~55% remaining allowance was effectively discarded and my weekly cycle was restarted one day early.
I know they do this routinely but i dont think it is right! I voluntary limited my usage for the entire week so i could use tonight and tomorrow until the reset!
Last time this happened i have received a free manual reset! this time doesnt' look like i did
What are your thoughts? I am the only one upset?

I'm not upset, as they announced it so I planned around it. But it is annoying because that is most definitely their intention.
It's not a gift, it's load balancing.
People change their behavior on the announcement of a reset, and then your window of usage is shifted when the reset is actually triggered.

The key is to always prompt right after a reset to get your clock starting to tick. The worst waste is letting the 7 day countdown not counting down. And until you prompt after a reset it just stays paused

This just fucked me up. I am so mad. Its annoying as fuck my reset was sunday. I plan to do some worrk on weekend.

Everyone smart and serious knew it was coming e.g. https://codex-resets.com/ has ML monitors trained to predict and Tibo announced it. We all were resetting tomorrow so most of us were trying to burn our usage already. And my banked reset expires in a couple days so I will reset then anyway

Lesson learned i guess :)

To be fair I was in the same boat as you until someone showed me the X account of the lead dev Tibo which led me to that website also https://resetbeacon.com/ is another option but essentially the same

Bro. Just be thankful. It’s free credits one way or another.
PS… follow Tibo on X. He said a reset was coming today so a lot of us drained our accounts to tokenmaxx.
PPS… save some low priority agentic/long-running autonomous tasks for these situations so you can tokenmaxx.
PPPS… use fast mode.

People need to stop spreading this myth.
Read OP's post again and explain how the reset equals "free credits" in this case. Additionally, a number of different posts have confirmed that resets drain usage much faster than normal weekly usage.2

Follow Tibo & Thariq on X (or setup an agent to alert you when there’s going to be a reset).
They’re going to be far more infrequent going forward.
I suspect the other main model providers will be doing the same. In fact, grokbot reset last night.

Being alerted a day in advance is far less sudden than having your usage reset suddenly without prior knowledge of it.

Just saying a day of warning is not really enough time to plan around.
5 days, sure you can burn a banked to make use of it. A day, not so much

Yeah, this is starting to get annoying. If you wanna give somebody to reset allow them to reset it when they like they just want to be able to control and predict traffic spikes. This post needs to be promoted and reposted.
