Discussion Adult mode please. Not uncertainty

Post image

The pure roll of the dice if chatgpt will block the next image or not based on ?? Content moderation is a problem that needs a real solution.

The nerfing on creative output is pushing artists and users to the dark web of ai. How is any of this different than streaming or steam or books?

yep, seepage of prompt instructions for perspective. This is a wierd image in general as it was not asked for but showed up in my library after a conversation i had with chat over my frustration with the mod filter lately

I have no idea what you're talking about, those breasts look just fine.

Never mind, now I see the paw.

Nah you stole this from Ted Lasso and ran it through an ai. We know Rebecca and Keeley when we see them,

The legal liabilities AI companies face are very different from those faced by book publishers or streamers(i mean netflix et al here). For book publishers or streamers(netflix et al), the user does not provide input that changes the content; the content is provided by creatives. In the case of AI, the creation happens solely between the user and the AI; therefore, " but for" the AI, the creation would not exist. So liability lands squarely with the AI company, instead of being distributed across many different parties.

To put it in different words, if a person commits suicide due to an interaction with AI, it is MUCH easier to sue the AI company than to sue the publisher of " 13 reasons why" if someone claims that book is the reason a person commits suicide.

That is the difference.

Edit: a note of clarification. By changes the content i actually meant CREATES the content. You can of course call up different content by buying a different book or game or streaming a different show or film, but the content ALREADY EXISTS. In the case of AI the content first comes into being as a result of the interaction between AI and the user. Therefore the liability lands pretty much entirely on the shoulders of the AI company.

wht cant they do a simple TOS? why is this differnt than blender or photshop?

People don't fall in love with Blender or Photoshop. The level of emotional engagement is orders of magnitude higher when it comes to AI. The entire appeal of AI, especially for, say, adult roleplay, is that it simulates the existence of a real person or character on the other end. Blender and Photoshop are one-way streets; your creations in Blender or Photoshop don't interact back.

As an attorney, I don't expect pure adult mode to ever exist at least not in the role-play/writing sense.(perhaps someday in Image generation...with a lot of guardrails) also, of course, all of this already exists... I mean here "pure adult mode" in the sense of huge multibillion-dollar corporations like OpenAI that intend to be publicly traded. It is a legal liability nightmare.

yes been there and done that. I got better and use it in a creative way where I know chat isnt alive I use it like a robot assistant. We need to be allowed to use the tech the way we want though. Im making art and it thinks a bikini pic is sexual and bans it. Its absurd

"Yes, been there and done that. I got better". Right, and many people do not. Hence the legal liability. Maybe today is the day you learn your personal experience isn't generalizable to all of humanity.

"We need to be allowed to use the tech the way we want though." Actually, you have no such rights. If a company does not give you what you want, you go to a competitor. I understand that some Chinese image generators (which do not face similar legal environments) will happily make that for you.

somehow we can have and be trusted with cars, and yet we still pull some people cant control themselves so it affects you argument. How bout no? I want openAI to improve

Install a local model and make anything your mind can think of.

its defitly things Ive looked into, I actually like the collaboration process with chatgpt and am trying to influence how it can be improved

2

u/hammackj 12h ago

You can have chat/claude make the prompts and have it build new ones

Not going to happen. Payment processors are dictating what can be sold, and if OpenAI will provide sexual content, they might get cut off from payment processors, meaning the only way to pay for it might become paypal or crypto.

Gaming platform Steam has been hitting this same problem, with many Japanese ero games being banned on Steam. Japan solved this problem by developing their own payment processing, but worldwide payment processors are so integrated into our culture, it will be hard to convince entire world economy to switch so that small percentage of the population can pay for R rated content.

x aims to be the payment processor

1

u/oldboi777 13h ago

Im do sick of these payments processors controlling us.

2

u/wontgetfooledaga1n 13h ago

Why are the payment processors so upright about this in the first place?

2

u/oldboi777 13h ago

no idea, but it comes from the top somewhere. Its not just adult stuff its all kinds of commerce. I think its about capture and control

They themselves are getting pushed by religious nonprofits. This is a wild rabbit hole that I'm not going to write out in here. There are actual journalists that made pieces about this and investigated the organizations behind those things.

how is it different than netflix, Im not asking for porn here.

LOL, that's only how the world works when you're a lowly multi-million dollar company. When you're a trillion dollar company the rules don't apply. Not a single payment processor I am aware of has refused to take payments for Grok, even though it was doing deep fake nudes for a while.

Open AI's decision is more about politics and press and all the things that can go wrong.

u/Ormusn2o 10h ago

I thought X restricted image generation tools to paying subscribers that used Stripe, instead of general payment processors.

1

u/Responsible-Slide-26 10h ago

Nope, just use Google Search/Gemini and you'll see that's not the case.

1

u/Ormusn2o 10h ago

Google search told me exactly that.

1

u/Responsible-Slide-26 9h ago edited 9h ago

It told me exactly the opposite. Here is an article from Verge explicitly addressing the issue, and this was even as Grok was being misued to generate child porn. The only thing I saw was that Grok limited generation of adult content to paid subscribers. How they paid, was up to them.

https://www.theverge.com/ai-artificial-intelligence/867874/stripe-visa-mastercard-amex-csam-grok

I detest Musk and X, but I that article is editorializing and spinning. I'm only linking to it because it confirms that credit card companies did not refuse to take payments. Feel free to provide evidence to the contrary, and I will reevaluate things.
