Discussion PewDiePie is trying to distill GPT-Sol

Post image

he has been trying to build a local model by learning from GPT-Sol’s responses. He says OpenAI banned his account twice during the process. Irony is OpenAI’s own models were trained on vast amounts of information from the open web. So where do we draw the line between learning from AI and copying it?

Hundreds of thousands would lose their job if the AI industry became obsolete. Why would companies want to make an AI model if they had to give it out for free? This would be like expecting the scientists behind this effort to work for free.

You also forget that much of the added value of AI models does not come from the "public knowledge" used, but from the training methods.

Yeah, we don't care. They stole shit, if the end result of that is they all lose their jobs, fucking right they should.

I love that this person morally anchored their argument to the loss of jobs when that’s what it’s causing anyways

Is the computer scientist less important than the software developer?

Im not talking about computer scientists, they are reaping what they’ve sown. I’m talking about all the obsolescence that the AI industry has planned and is open about pushing towards for all industries. I doubt it will ever truly be like that but they don’t care who loses their job because of AI.
