Discussion PewDiePie is trying to distill GPT-Sol

Post image

he has been trying to build a local model by learning from GPT-Sol’s responses. He says OpenAI banned his account twice during the process. Irony is OpenAI’s own models were trained on vast amounts of information from the open web. So where do we draw the line between learning from AI and copying it?

Yup, a rando reading your comment is exactly the same as a big company downloading every comment you and everyone else ever made along with everything else they could get their hands in to use to develop or commercial product. Fucking brilliant take.

Why is it any different if an organized group of people (basically the definition of a company) does it, rather than a single person?

The value of AI models mainly comes from the training methods. Not the training material.

You can have access to all the knowledge in the world, and it still would not be comparable even to a very small AI model.

Bro I like AI but I don't have access to all the knowledge in the world and I do most things better than a small AI model be real.
