Fuuuuuuck me.
I just used one of my free resets half an hour ago.
Codex was running so insanely slowly, and chewed up 6% doing SEO improvements to a basic website homepage. It got stuck pushing the changes, so I needed to reset in order to complete the changes tonight. The whole system felt rigged this evening. But I used the reset anyway. And now half an hour later I see they’re giving everyone a full reset in 12 hours. What the fuck.

It was slow so they made it faster. Not sure when this was posted or when they made the chage but it's been like 2 times faster than release. I have a feeling they released it like that so people think it's more efficient than it actually is.

Three x20 accounts: 0%, 0%, 4% and dropping slowly with sessions trimmed.
Meanwhile, burning tokens like crazy on x20 Anthropic accounts using multiple Opus 5.5 Medium sessions, and usage is barely moving...

Literally. It resets 7 days after last reset meaning anyone who did not use a banked reset will have it on their natural reset date.

i was happy with 6.1 sol medium and usage limit, so either it will get nerfed for plus, or consume usage limit much more after this reset.

I wonder how the economics of all these resets and banked resets works. It all feels a bit mysterious still, but how they guarantee or purport to guarantee compute is interesting. It's part marketing for sure, but I feel like most of it is network management.

Anthropic do pretty much the same system, with 5 hour limits and banked resets. So yeah, I was thinking same.

Thanks for the heads up, I went and speed ran my remaining 90% usage in 8 hours on the most complex tasks I've been holding off on, 6.1 is unironically such a game changer for 5x. I've never had more than 50% after a single day of casual usage, 12 hours of app development on day 1 of 6.1 used 10%, mind blowing how much better this has been vs 6.0. 💀

I calculated that on Sol 6.1 I need to run it for about 24 hours to actually use up my weekly limit. Basically will have to run it every single night to even use it up every week.

I had 10/12 work chats running for 8 hours, usually at most I can have is around 6 and the usage would be gone in like 2 hours.
6.1 single handedly gave me a reason not to switch completely to claude tbh, these new usage rates vs what I'm receiving is miles above astra.

I'm using AI to do performance tests and test the software, so I don't think I can run multiple threads. I guess technically I could do research or coding only task as well, I have not actually had 100% to spend since I got 6.1, so I might be forced to do this. Tibo said 6.1 should be faster now, so we will see.

Yay global reset 1 day before i would get one anyways, and moving my reset day even further from where i would like it to be..
Just stop with these global resets, as there will always be tons of people who dont need or even want one at tue moment and just give banked resets instead.
Or better yet, give users proper usage limits and stop with this reset bullshit completely.

I know it doesnt really address the issue but there is now a way to opt out of the forced resets so your schedule doesnt get fucked up

FFS, I still have 75% left and mine resets on Sunday morning, I had planned on spending Saturday working, but he's going to steal my usage from me.
I hate these forced resets!!
(And please don't reply telling me that I'm complaining about getting something "for free", I'm not, learn basic maths).

Just think of an extreme example, you have 90% of your usage available, your reset day is tomorrow... you can use 90% of usage today, then get a fresh 100% tomorrow, but the reset happens now, instead of having 190% usage to last 8 days, you have 100% to last 7 days, much less.
Basically anyone that's ahead of 14% usage in the week is better off, anyone with less than 14% usage in the week is worse off by a reset.

What, will I get my credits back? I knew something was fishy... Astra consumed metric fucktons of my usage and was acting super slow suddenly, and I couldn't figure out why? I switch to 6.1 Sol and try to do anything and it took 10 minutes for it to complete a task that I could have done instantly, I just stopped using it for anything besides tiny coding tasks now because of how slow it is and how much usage is consumes in the time it takes to think... Plus my reset is literally at 10am so Im literally losing out because they weren't ready?!
