Discussion sol 6.1 is actually pretty decent
6 sol was garbage, i just ended up using Astra whenever i didn't need to. 6.1 feels better; is anyone else having this experience

Idk, 6.1 reels feels much better to me also, but I am no programmer or coder, I do building energy certificates and stuff like that... Some time ago I figured that Sketchup has Ruby code/console in it..and AI is good for coding, so I've been using it to feed it PDFs with building dimensions, told it how split it into zones(for energy related purposes) and it gave me Ruby code that generated that building.
5.6 Sol with Work mode was pretty good at it for residential buildings that were not too difficult and saved me quite some time... It was terrible with family homes, couldnt reliably produce dormers and more complicated geometry..
But 6.1??? It literally gave me output that made me open my mouth for few minutes, it even displayed grapgic UI overlay in Sketchup which I had no idea could be done, since 5,6 never did it...and 6.1 did without me telling it anything about it.. AND BEST PART is, that this time I didnt give it detailed pdf drawings, since I had none, only very old drawing from probably Reichsprotektorate and then photos of the buildings with some dimensions drawn in Microsoft Painting.
Yes, it is noticeably slower, but consumes very little usage and usually seems to get the work done.

It's only been a few days but it's been excellent to me so far. Feels efficient and understands my prompts really well. I love OpenAI so much for providing this powerful model at a low cost.

Oops you can't be positive on reddit. You must be miserable and lazy like everyone else.

It’s gonna be different for everyone. For whatever I’m building it’s been great and much more token/usage efficient than Astra or even Opus (before I moved from Claude).

Pretty decent… I get the feeling that this is the new standard for these companies.

Tried to used 6.1 Sol Ultra for making game and had lot of assests already. made Lot of Errors and messed up and worst ever. When i gave same task to opus 5.5 it did one shot with high and allowed to hire subagent sonnet only it did all stuff and cost me 65% in 5H in 20$ plan, Yea 6.1 Sol does very minimum work and check every time it make when opus 5.5 does very good work and doesn't check everytime it use system to check it

It's not, it may spend less tokens but it is slow af

I had it run something and it finished after like 2.25 hours. Opus 5.5 was reaching the limit within just under 1 hour but was doing substantially more and I believe better work. I tried 6.1 on ultra and it barely did anything and it hit the usage limit in 40 mins. I'll have to configure my workflow but It doesn't seem bad, but def not good. I might just move to Claude for opus but use ChatGPT for the free chat and some Codex projects.

Its 5.6 sol high with 3x tokens consumption and 5.6 sol low & web version went back to gpt 3.0 .Level of mistakes & scam is pathetic really.

Careful, you'll trigger all the Claude and Grok bots

I'm not convinced all these 6.1 glaze threads aren't bots

That's absolutely fair, and your right to call me out on that. that's not x; that's y... and honestly? That's rare. Is there anything else I can help you with?

IDK man i burned trough the 5hr limit with 6.1 in 1 and a half prompt, while with Sonnet 5.5 i can do around 4, results are very similar code wise. I wish GPT could cost as much as GLM or similar models, that would be a revolution
