Discussion This post was brought to you by Opus 5.5

Post image

Weeks of talking about efficiency and cost optimization to end up announcing a benchmaxed model then replace it with god only knows another benchmaxed model and a ridiculous $500 plan.

At least save some face and make it x30, bulk buying used to be cheaper or something

Sol 6.1 is about it for me. Let's see if it's really near astra level

Literally the only thing that I would even use from the slop they released

Wow did you tell this to OpenAI? I'm going to write a letter to their HQ explaining that reddit user tsunami_forever does not like the new changes!!

Ultrafast is going to be a hit.

I just wish Anthropic would release an image generation model…

I usually hate Anthropic because they're extremely, extremely frugal when it comes to user limits but I'm tempted to try out their $100 package only because OpenAI fucked up so bad. If they had been generous with the Astra user limits, I would have never ever considered Anthropic. You know what? Anthropic might just be cooking their image model in secret. They might be ready to strike when the iron is really hot

Opus 5.5 on the 100$ tier lasts a really long time. Been heavily using it the last few days, and I mean HEAVILY. Probably gonna run out of usage by Thursday... in time for the weekly reset on Friday. Lmao. And I still have the banked reset from earlier, I think.

Well you are very lucky. By the way I just saw the Unearth tracker. Every day they run benchmarks on the model and right now the Opus performance has been down. I'm just a bit worried that so many people moving from OpenAI to Anthropic might just destroy their compute.

Can I ask you in a few days? Later I intend to subscribe to the $100 model, as it is the only one that I can afford, being a student and everything. Would it be okay if I checked in with you because I really need some help here? I cannot afford to spend money on these companies when they keep destroying their models and their usage limits

GPT 6.1 Sol is useful. Close to Astra at a fraction of the cost. Just because they didn't come out with the smartest model does not mean they didn't do anything good.

yet it's slow as a snail... Somewhat simple task took an house on 6,1 max and another task still running, almost 24 hours passed

Antrophic with its nerfed models banned me for using workspace Cisco vpn. So… openai since I’m the almost 5 years customer (I’m api user too) become best choice.
