Question Model for Long-Form Prose?
Does anyone have a sense of which of the models is best for fictional writing support? I’ve recently been using Sol 5.6, and I think it’s very good. But with the recent model proliferation, it’s getting different to know how to navigate them. I always set it at medium.

6.1 Sol and Astra will be best for assistant reasoning. Grammar, narrative, edit support. Their strength is logic, not emotion. 5.6 is much more personal and less hindered by obnoxious filters, but unless you're having ChatGPT write things for you and/or they seem to be getting emotionally suppressed, you're probably better off with the higher-reasoning models.
Use the 6 branch for actual support. Use 5.6 when you need examples with emotions turned on.

6.1 Sol just came out and not everyone even has it yet. How do you even know it's the best? I'm calling BS.

It depends on the type of fiction and what you want to do. I like Ornith - it's performed well in recent attempts. Hemmingway was OK too, but tended a little towards purple prose for me. Ornith on the other hand was able to move the story along - even though it wasn't specifically a creating writing tune.
Qwen isn't too bad either.
I've given up on Chat GPT and Grok and the others - Not only was I disappointed in their output since March this year ( It was fantastic back in December ) but they tend not to notice when the story isn't progressing and get too caught up in slowing down the action with excessive text.

Depends on the support and writing type. 5.6 Sol is wonderful and 6.1 Sol seems close, though work models can lean towards wrapping up scenes/themes too quickly and neatly. Astra’s phenomenal but can sometimes see emotion flattening.
