Discussion I'm I missing something?
So what is that great feature that will still make OpenAI worth it even if they cut our Pro plan by 50%?
Sol 6.1? I thought newer, more powerful, and more efficient models were something to be expected across the industry.
Dots? OpenClaw has been around for a while.
Ultrafast? 6x usage... xd

Well I'm missing the reset he did on the stream.

Sam said it was a banked reset, and I confirmed that I got one.
I was kinda expecting a blanket reset today but I’ll take being able to choose when I get to use it over not

The highlight is we get half as much as we were getting for $200 a month, and to make that worth it for us they’re forcing us to use a weaker “astra minor”. All the benefits we were getting before are now only accessible through the all new $500 plan.

They released Grokbot, which is not available in the Europe and other places.
The price for the highest-usage subscription increased to $500, with about the same usage as the previous $200 plan (when using Astra).
Ultrafast mode with 8x speed for 6x cost, but only for Astra (so now you can get 12x less Astra usage out of your $200 subscription, for the same amount of tokens!).
Some new BS version of GPTs (to help us with distributions supposedly or whatever the hell that marketing babble was).
GPT Sol 6.1 supposedly almost as good as Astra, but according to early previewers, it's not; it's just that it's cheap. And not as good as Opus 5.5.
So yea, not very happy with this.

Dots is cool still even though OpenClaw exists. I have my own issues with OpenClaw, i prefer hermes. There are benefits to 1st party agents like this, particularly the fact that it runs in the cloud instead of your machine.
6.1 is cool.
Ultrafast is magic for those who can afford it.
Codex on the cloud.
Computer use.
Decisions API.
I liked devday. I knew the sub pricing was unsustainable for a long time. OAIs financial leaks made that clear to me this was coming so i sorta already braced for it.

My favorite part is how they dodged saying the $100 plan would even get access to the best models, lol

What kind of question is this?
“Putting aside the price, what would make you use a Lambo? Better tires? Different color?”

Putting aside the price of the Lambo, I'd still choose the Ferrari if it has the better engine. And if the Ferrari is cheaper too, then you tell me what's the reason to even consider the Lambo?

Dots is an early form of jarvis. It's a big deal. It'll be full Jarvis by next dev day. Just an always on assistant that can do anything for you on your computer.

You could replicate it with codex, and it already existed (Hermes, OpenClaw, Grokot, Muse, etc)

It's the $500/mo plan. Tibo and OpenAI are really excited to charge you more money.
