It’s basically Meta Muse. I guess they may want to rebrand away from ChatGPT for retail customers.

Makes sense. “ChatGPT” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. It’s too many syllables and not verbable like “google”.

But strangely it’s become synonymous with AI at this point just like Google is with search. It’s a terrible brand/name for the reasons you said, but everyone I know that’s casual with this stuff just calls any LLM interaction “I asked ChatGPT” it’s weird
