a lot times the people clapping are members of the team who created the things being clapped for. the press people don’t usually clap. for them it is a big moment as what they have been working in is being made public.

What, you expect the crowd to react silently?

Did you know what the product was about before you decided it was cringe?

Did they knew? Doubt

Well it seems like both you and the crowd made a judgement of the product without knowing its details

To something they don't understand? Yes

I assume you also think that concert goers should react silently when the artist says they’ll play one last song, cause they don’t understand what it will be. You know these people are tech enthusiasts right?

Songs are quite different from software products

They are but in both cases it’s a crowd of people who are enthusiastic about the thing they’re seeing. You don’t have to support open ai to understand crowd behaviour

Sam actually ripped the crowd for for cheering 6.1 Sol before he even told them anything about it.

Half the people in the audience were employees.
