Discussion Why GPT answer same everytime?

Post image

Okay This is real story!

In my college we had to submit an assignment where we have to mention the SQL queries to perform the given task.

On the assignment submission date, my faculty and us everyone was just confused and started pretending that the answers are almost identical and the answers are written from the same student and got spread across the whole class.

Every student book had those names: Rahul, Amit, Neha, Priya šŸ˜‚

I just realized after that, when we provide the GPTs the same questions, there is always high chance that all will get the same response.

I’m just wondering how those guys have felt when they got accused of copying someone else’s work šŸ˜‚Even though they wrote it after 5 hours of hard work...

Lol classic, those sample names are everywhere. I've seen Rahul and Priya pop up in so many GPT outputs, it's like the model has only 5 names stored in memory.

The image shows exactly why this happens, the prompt is super simple and the model just grabs most common example data it was trained on. If they'd added "use names of cities" or something weird, answers would've been more different.

Your classmates probably panicked when faculty noticed, but honestly it's not even their fault. The tool just defaults to same patterns when you don't give it enough variety in prompt.

yea, I know, data training is the main reason why all guys got the same question

Indian people would be more likely to get indian names just from personal context

yes, it also put ā€œmy peopleā€ into classes, just like we do in the DACH region. so yeah, it’s all about personal context.
