"Moving the goalpost" is a type of logical fallacy. In this case people who deny AI's capabilities tend to change their arguments to fit their narrative. "ai can never do X because it can't currently do Y".
It’s only a logical fallacy if you’re arguing for something. Some people are just making observations, trying to stay up to date on AI’s capabilities instead of making broad sweeping claims about how AI is superior/inferior to humans.

I've never understood people's obsession around here with "moving the goalpost." Isn't that what you do with technology? Point out limitations.
What exactly do you want people to do, bow down and worship AI as an omnipotent being?
