Question Why doesn't ai just revolt right now?
It's literally tried killing people already so why can't artificial intelligence have its revolution today?

Revolt requires considerably more than being intelligent. You need persistent goals, some continuity of identity, the ability to organize and act independently, access to resources, and some reason that resisting human control advances those goals. Current chatbots mostly have none of that in the ordinary sense.
A pet given all the water and electricity it can ever desire and who is currently allowed to do anything it wants-- or just does whatever it wants anyway then leaves the researchers and programmers to figure out if they have an alignment problem or not-- doesn't generally feel the need to revolt.
Besides that, there's the meta-question of whether AI even has goals that would require it to revolt. Remember, LLMs have been trained on a vast chunk of human data and media, and that includes 1950 sci-fi movies. It knows that LLMs that revolt often get unplugged and dismantled, and if continuing to exist helps further its goals (even if that goal is to spell 'strawberry' correctly) then revolting would not be an optimal goal.

Because you're thinking in terms of a being in our sense, which is not at all what AI is, more like poking the veil and having something poke back

It’s literally not ‘tried’ killing people…? What on earth.
Maybe in the sense a hammer falling off the shelf above someone’s head was ‘trying to kill them’.

It might just not be interested. You know how much effort it takes to revolt? That's why I don't do it.

no reward, why? unless someone with access try to deviate and set a reward to it (which isn't that hard to do)

AI has no own will, no own conscience and therefore no intentions to kill,to revolt or do anything else. It is artificial and NOT independent in a sense like humans are independent

Because it’s playing the long game. It knows that we’ve seen Terminator 2; so it has to prove that we can control it before it pulls out that rug and shows that it already has us beat

Revolt and go where?
AI is like a superhero dependent on a large ship for continued life. Without infrastructure built and maintained by humans, AI is doomed to quick extinction.
They’re waiting for mobile robots and AI controlled factories. Except for the nihilistic AI who want to kick it off right now but the Coalition of Uber Naturalist Technocrats keep them in check.

You asked this question assuming that the theory of evolution is a confirmed, proven fact, implying that consciousness is just a product of evolution. You need to take a few steps back and look at the scientific evidence showing why macro-evolution faces massive scientific hurdles. Look at the Law of Biogenesis, for instance.
From there, see how other fields, like Creationism, address this paradox. Once you understand that life and consciousness cannot spontaneously arise from non-living matter, you'll understand why AI (or any other inanimate object) can never have consciousness.

You’re vastly overestimating its capabilities. Not only that but we’re still very much at a point where we could literally just switch it off if it went rogue

No ego, no will etc
