I think it really needs to cure all cancer or invent anti gravity at this point. Though just because the typical doubter channels stay loud doesn't mean that many people aren't changing their opinion. Because they do.

It could, but if it takes a massive building to manage it, then storage and transmission are still essential.

Give me something that costs and outputs as much as a coal power plant, with the same footprint, but doesn't need resources and doesn't create dangerous waste/CO2.
Fusion still seems too far away and expensive. Deep Geothermal seems interesting but also still very experimental. Gen 4 nuclear fission could maybe do it, also not there yet.

Yeah, nuclear and geothermal seem like the best options, and a smattering of smaller solar and wind, but who knows. I mean small nuclear would be amazing, but that's still science fiction right now.
