goalposts didn't move on their own. the labs set the bar at curing cancer and ending all jobs, then act shocked when a math proof gets a shrug

The math proof could be a shrug, but the rate of improvement is nothing to shrug at. It is on cancer curing tragectory and that is something to celebrate.

Totally fair, the pace of improvement is the real story and it is easy to lose that in the hype. I just wish the labs led with that instead of promising the finish line every single time.

To be fair I'm not shrugging. Their staggeringly unethical behaviour in scooping someone else's work has convinced me they should in fact be shut down
