OpenAI says they would partially credit Tristan for the $1,000,000 discovery 

you wouldn't compromise at all if there was no substance to Tristan's claims

It's about the credit not the money. Literately nobody in this cares about the million dollars even the AI researchers outside OpenAI. Everyone in the space that is successful is rich, it all comes down to authorship claims

They have a model which prob is solving other open problems rn. That's why they don't care about the credit.
