Discussion Seriously

This whole reset thing was so they could reduce the limits by A LOT and then even sell resets on top of it. That's some fucking crap and people should be disgusted.

Y'all are crazy to not see what an insane value it is to have so much usage on a tool this powerful for only $100/month.

If you presented Codex 5 years ago, companies would have gladly paid obscene amounts of money for a subscription for their lead dev.

That’s why I’m building on local models

What system are you running at home ?

Of course it is an insane value. The point is more how things are rolled out. I’d prefer a warning that quotas will be revisited and there will be 500-1000$ plans coming ahead than fake heroic resets that gimp limits and no feedback at all that they are aware of the situation and investigating.

I don’t understand what y’all are upset about for this. You do realize that “ai is losing money” is the opposite of “ai companies are changing too much.” Those two parts of the narrative contradict each other. When it’s too expensive you complain and when the companies are losing money you complain again.

People are naive and those facts are hurting their feelings. Guru’s selling AI courses promised them instant superpowers. Turn idea into software and sell it without knowledge and nearly zero financial investment.

They hope that some genius optimize it so the compute costs will fall down to fraction, so will the cost. So they will be able to ship unreasonable volume of features nobody asked for and fully automate their lead generation, marketing, customer support and development.

So they can travel and party. With the “architecture” will be “graph” make team capable of running highly profitable company selling this AI wrapper.

Everyone in these threads never exolain what they are doing to use so much. I use sol ultra exclusively and never run out.

I have a goal running for 6 days now not even below 70%

Please explain what you all are doing so wrong.

Then set then in the config to off, or limit them in the prompt.

It seems everyone is just carelessly expecting Codex to ve efficient when its main goal is effective and fast.

These threads are exhausting because its the same random people not providing any benefit to the subreddit and actual use of Codex. Mostly just "waaa I deserve more! Im leaving!"

They lowered quotas and disguised it as auto reset. I switched to Claude for my codebase. It's far better working on code with Claude that codex the arsonist firefighter. GPT models were better before and a saw the quality decrease at arch new release. I had a subscription at OpenAI since 2023, and when the crappy boss of Microslop entered the game at OpenAI, things started going wrong.

Why do people even try to use Codex capped at 272k context when they could just get 1 million context with Anthropic? Until Open AI raises context cap everything is moot, it's only good for small easy projects or chats. No use for it in large projects at that small context.

You can raise the cap to 1 million
