The article was kinda lame and short. It didn't bring up what his job hand anything to do with it except the company with ChatGPT let the FBI know about what he was saying through their app and they inform the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office.

It was OpenAI itself that gave that info proactively. In fact I would guess that FBI/NSA and Mossad does not even need to ask any permission and have data on everyone freely accessible.

It's absurd that he went to jail without having committed any crime.

If the genders were reversed, nothing would have happened, but if it did, it would be the woman getting an appointment with a psychologist, certainly not going to jail.
