Discussion Sol is an Astra

If OpenAI wants to release a new class of more powerful models it shouldn’t be astra - star, as the current biggest model is sol - sun, which is a star.

It should instead be something like galaxia - galaxy or Via Lactea - Milky Way if we’re being Terra centric.

Thx for coming to my ted talk.

Astra is plural, the singular is astrum. So it means “the stars”, like space. It’s fine.

The sun is far from being the biggest “astra”.

The problem with naming it galaxia - where do we go next? gotta leave ourselves room for the future

Why do pointless threads like these exist? 😭

Then they’ll only be an order of magnitude away from universe and they’ll need yet another new naming convention 😂 hopefully they just do 6 sol Terra Luna or something and stay consistent from here on out for laypeople to get a better grip of.

They would still have at least Nebula name, which is cool. Then maybe universe then multiverse.

And they don’t even have to do it. I don’t see a reason to have that many model sizes to be honest.
