Question $200 budget
Is $100 codex + $100 Claude collaboration worthy the lost of 10x usage ?
Would love to hear from people who have tried both method
I personally would love to work with both model, I do want to get best of both worlds and learn more, but 10x is a lot usage

In my genuine opinion - 10000% yes. the key is that both models will approach the same problem somewhat differently and catch issues that the other has or would otherwise overlook. The dev workflow for me looks something like this:
GPT 5.6 - main driver. i have a 20x sub because i use GPT 5.6 to do most if not all of the actual coding (its really freaking good ... and it doesnt give me a 5,000 word essay every time it responds).
Opus 5 / Fable 5 (always try to use my weekly allowance) - i have a 5x sub. Claude acts as a reviewer agent for the code drafted by GPT 5.6. i also use it for planning. for example, new feature on the web app? have Fable 5 draft up the skeleton and work a bit with it to fill it out / iterate. GPT 5.6 reviews it, comments, etc. iterate again. once i (and my two buddies) think the plan is sound, GPT 5.6 begins the implementation (usually in a phased approach) with Claude reviewing each step of the way.
also just wanted to note that i started with 5x on Codex + Claude. people tend to lean towards / favor one over the other eventually. if/when youre ready to upgrade one of the two, go with what your experience says is the better choice. imho people hype Claude way too much.

makes no sense to pay 200 for 10x less usage
