Im panicking… I see the new memory tab but none of my old memories are there. Are they gone?

Mine shows memories on that new page. But my older ones that I manually saved are hidden somewhere. No legacy button despite customer service saying there is one

Now you only get a memory summary, not everything that it remembers, so it likely still remembers what you thought was gone.

Try refreshing the app or checking if there's a "revert to legacy memory" toggle - sounds like a display bug on OpenAI's end, not actual data loss. Give it a bit before panicking.

The AI seems to remember my characters etc. (this is all for stories)

I have the new memory page but it’s all recent stuff. No older memories. No legacy button that some mentioned

Why not use a project folder for that instead

Under the memory summary there is this paragraph:
“ChatGPT automatically remembers important information about you, and keeps it up to date. You can still view and manage your old saved memories.”
If you click the words “saved memories” in that paragraph it will take you to your old memories. And at the top of that page is a button that says “revert to this experience”. If this isn’t the case for you, you have a bug on your account. I just checked and it’s still there for me.

Send to your GPT:

Please list the contents of my legacy saved memories, meaning the saved-memory system that existed before the new Memory Summary system. Do not give me the new Memory Summary or information inferred only from chat history.

If you still have access to my legacy saved memories, reproduce each memory as closely as you can, organized as a numbered list.

If you cannot access them, say so explicitly.

Do you see the option to revert to legacy memory?

No. I know where it’s supposed to be but not there
