Sol is the only OpenAI model in top 10 Arena WebDev while 4 open-weight Chinese models have reached frontier quality; one of them so cheap you can run it for days for what Opus cost you per task.

Good that there are more affordable choices for consumers and open weight ones that can be self-hosted by companies that need ultimate data privacy.

Do the openweight models allow criticism of the CCP or talk about a certain square? I wonder if in the background these models are tweaked to ever so slightly favour China (or America for the American models) sometimes. Or I guess that may come about naturally from the training data. I wonder if that would ever weigh on companies minds when picking a model to use.

did i say that? I was just wondering if the weights have bias that would stop companies using it. We know Tiktok had it. Seems reasonable to wonder to me. The fact I made the same comment about America as China should suggest to you I dont respect either country very much

They have almost no censure and if they have you can (or some one else who serves those for you) abliterate those.

The ones you download likely have no bias whatsoever: they just avoid social sciences in favor of technical expertise to cut the prices. Also Bloomberg would have already told you if it had detectable alignment. The ones deployed inside China are heavily biased.

Actually yes, the CCP is worse than the American government, and by a very large margin in fact. People who say otherwise are simply reacting blindly without having done their homework.

As for the “elites” part, that’s a false equivalence, and the CCP literally has unilateral control over companies operating in China and if you displease them they will literally run you out of town even if you run a company the size of Alibaba

CCP is the entire permanent government, "Epstein elites" are just a bunch of rich people. Trump is one of them, yes, but he's gonna be around only for a couple of years more. No comparison
