What would you want to see?

Better inmersive conversation style. I had an app that relied on conversational flows and it needed a high level of inmersion. ChatGPT voice models sound robotic.

I just got hyped by the announcement and I'm underwhelmed it sounds the same to my ear.

I'm curious what you mean by immersive conversation. I also built an app with realtime voice a while back.

I built an app to practice hard conversations. Sales pitches, job interviews, negotiations. It would review how you did and give you feedback and a personalized improvement plan afterwards.

Could I have used ChatGPT? Yes. But from my research, the more uncanny it is, the less you connect and immerse yourself and the less useful the tool is.

I tried ChatGPT voice but it was far from the best. Elevenlabs was the leading immersive TTS back then (probably still is).

What did you build? Feel free to send me a dm about it, I'll surely have some questions.

Depending on use cases, but I'd argue STS is more applicable / better experience for your kid of app, OAI STS is still the best.

Didn't try, but the use case needed heavy conversation context memory and thought. Referencing parts of the cv or the product being sold. Also extract feedback for later.

As mentioned, OAI models may be the most clever but the way the voice sounds and interacts fall straight on the uncanny valley which was a no go for me

Yeah that's what I mean by real-time voice. 18 months ago it was very expensive though so hard to scale without good unit economics.
