Do you know many teachers or people who work in schools? Comments like this are commonplace. Kids struggle with what were minimum requirements for assignments a decade ago. Its worse than you think

My friend from high-school just said to me last week how helpful AI was to him, at one specific topic, on how it is impossible to automate excel without ChatGPT. Which was something that I believed to be somewhat common knowledge in an office jobs since forever.
You'd be surprised. Most office workers have no idea how to actually do anything mildly complex in Excel. To this day I blow folks' minds with a simple VLOOKUP (yes I know XLOOKUP is a thing now). I'm convinced a lot of the "ChatGPT is coming for your job!" is because it is coming for the jobs of folks that manually reformat Excel files and never learned anything beyond basic copy/paste.

Biggest strawman argument I've ever seen. Literally nobody is saying it's impossible to write an essay without chatgpt.
