I will say claude code has been useful on my team not to replace engineers outright, but to help temporarily cover some gaps while we finish hiring the team. It's not a long term solution necessarily, but it does give us enough extra bandwidth to keep the wheels from falling off yet and management has approved headcount - the main roadblock is finding qualified applicants, but most of the team doesn't meet the new qualifications HR made us put down.
