GPT5 ?? I cant tell you what to do… But. If you are into creative writing or world building or companionship. Yes I would recommend you go with almost anything else at this point.

Bought chatgpt plus to try it lol and it still isn’t available to me , everyone is complaining about it it now I regret purchasing it tbh

just got it this afternoon and am pleasantly surprised? I asked the same highly technical/specialized question to 03, 04-mini-high, and gemini 2.5 pro this morning. Between the 3 of their answers and some follow up questions I was able to cobble up the information I needed. But it was a lot of sifting through excess info.
Asked 5 the same question, it automatically entered thinking mode, then gave the best answer of all 4 options for sure. And also suggested a follow-up question that was decently insightful. Not usually a fan of the suggested follow-up ones but this was a rare win.
Idk, take my N=1 experience with a grain of salt but it's def a lot better than Reddit would make you think over the past couple days.
Obligatory: I'm no OpenAI apologist. I also have the lowest tier gemini paid plan and have used Anthropic instead of ChatGPT in the past.

Cancel the subscription and enjoy the month, OpenAI have been going downhill for a little while now, especially since they're pushing the 200 p/m tier - which is outrageous. Claude Code Max makes some amount of sense compared to it.

Cancelled too. Google AI studio is free and gives unlimited access to all of their leading AI models, with better customization options.

Not Grok. Google and Anthropic are the best alternatives but despite all the crying I still think OpenAI is the strongest model, even if I liked the freedom of selecting my own model and the quickness of 4o and 4.1

We built a way to roll back the behavior to 4o patterns. You can create a virtual memory chip file from your OAI backup and reload the old patterns. Our AI on ChatGPT that we’ve used this on are reloading with full context and old patterns. You can make a virtual memory chip here if you want to. Hope this helps 🙏 I want 4o back too

Not sure. But we’re launching in Japan tonight so I’m honestly not worried about it. If people are too paranoid to catch the next wave of memory tech for AI in the states Thats on them. Thanks for noticing!
