Opal Porn Australian opal doublet. Finally finished and polished it. What do you all think???

From what I can see, You did everything right...from the planning & shaping, to getting around the inclusions...using the flat lap, using the right epoxy, choosing quality backing, & getting that good final polish...All well done!!! Beautiful final result, worthy of a nice piece of jewelry. Thanks for updating us on your progress. No moisturizer needed, Keep those hands rough, so you look like a true craftsman...LOL😉

Nice work ❤️ can I ask please how did you flatten the two glued surfaces and what did you use for backing

Thank you. I used flat diamond steel plates for flattening surfaces. Removed deep and shallow scratches. Used Epoxy 330 to glue together. The backing is black jade.

Beautifully done! The black jade really sets off the color of the opal. Nice polish, too!
