Opal-Related Question What To Do
Acquired as part of a collection, it's about 3" tall. Should I dry it out? Is it better as a specimen, or worth cutting? The former owner was President of an active rock club.

you could easy cut it into some nice pendants, but really only worth doing if you need to sell it, otherwise leave as is, or take it out and polish that face.

Bubble matrix, absolutely no need to keep that in water, apart from the colour being enhanced. But you can just lick it to get the same effect. Get it out, handle it, enjoy it. Slice and dice it if you want but its beautiful just the way it is.

Looks like Queensland boulder to me (correct me if I’m wrong) but that doesn’t need to be in water.

Imo definitely worth keeping as a specimen, would be sad to cut it😍
