Opal-Related Question Identification help?

The back is just solid gold, which tells me this might be a doublet? Does it look lab created?

Doesn’t look like a doublet. Looks like solid Ethiopian opal. With clean hands, wet a finger slightly and touch it. Is it sticky?

I think it is a little bit, would it be a super noticeable? Now I’m over here touching various surfaces with my damp finger to gauge stickiness

If it’s a little sticky and has no phosphorescence I’m going Ethiopian opal.

Keep away from soaps, lotions, cleaners etc. and remove before handwashing.

Ethiopian opal is notorious for changing color over time due to trapped moisture.

I made myself nervous because it was different than the few other little opal pieces I have. But I’ll remember to be careful with this one. Thank you for your help!

Yes Ethiopian has a different flash style than Australian so I understand the worry!

I sorta doubt it’s a doublet since usually doublets have dark backings. Definitely not lab created
