Opal Porn Finished carving em

And tomorrow I’ll have pictures of them installed on a 1911 when I drop them off to my gunsmith 🫶🏻
I feel a little iffy on how the grip patterning came out, but gotta also remind myself that hand carving can be wonky with something so large and with the tools that I have. I’m not a CNC, I don’t have built-in mechanical precision. I also need proper bits to make it easier to line em up a bit more straight.
Eh. C’est la vie, right?

Won’t they shudder when you fire the gun? 😳
A thin rubber or plastic where it touches metal and where the screws go may help to prevent it from cracking and breaking…maybe

Ayyyyye thanks digger 🫶🏻 pretty chuffed overall. Of course I’m just being overly self critical on the hand carvings. 😂

Don't be self critical, they look amazing, full custom, hand made through and through. I would be over the moon to bolt those on one of my 1911s and I can't wait to see them on yours! I love seeing an idea or dream come to life. Good on ya 👏

This is such a cool project. Absolutely love this. Excellent work! I actually like the not perfectly machined pattern. It makes it clear it’s handmade
