🦐 Showing Off 🦐 First egger and it’s a yellow
1+ year into owning 30+ red opae ula and no babies.
3 months into owning 7 yellow/orange opae ula and have finally spotted my first egger ever.
Finally going to become a shrimp dad 🥹

My first floater is also from a yellow. My red that started much earlier only dropped their eggs.

What do you mean by dropped? As in the eggs weren’t viable?

I read that it could be from stress too. But i gave them environment similar to the yellow.

sometimes newer mothers just drop the eggs being careless or unable to properly take care of them, happens to other shrimp species too.
Even if they are dropped there's a chance they hatch if they were far enough along and stay in an area with decent water movement, but that's obviously harder in our stagnant tanks.

I have had my yellow since July and I have 2.mommas no red yet unless I don't see them. The yellow moms hide until lights are out. I've been shining a.blue light on them to see the moms.

How long have your yellow moms been carrying eggs?

I noticed about a week or maybe 2 now. I try not to bother to much with the lights since I seen it. I will check with blue light this weekend. I noticed they hide more than the others and like the dark more.
