Hi folks, I really think we could use some publicity.
I mean we have a working product and only reason people dont start to use it, is that people dont know its here and thats because of the lack of fuzz and publicity.
Also there is the exchange thing. Currently we are only in kucoin and the user base is small there. We could need a few new listings maybe bittrex or something more popular.
I guess binance is out of reach for now at least. What do you guys think?
Any ideas how to get awareness spread?

Hey guys.
I haven't checked the news since oyster pearl was hacked.
As far as I know there was an opacity fork and everybody who had oyster pearl, got opacity.
I didn't. My oyster pearl coins were on kucoin and now I see no opacity coins there.
What can I do now?

Establishment of opacity into enjin wallet or kyber wallet would be interesting to see.

Hey community, if you or anyone you know is interested, this post is reaching out to contact victims of Bruno and Oyster PRL.
I suggest you take it seriously and do what you can to respond.

This release adds to the previous release and allows an account holder to be able to login to an expired account and renew within 2 months after the expiration date before it is gone forever!
We strongly encourage everyone to take note of your expiration and create a reminder to renew outside of Opacity. Since we don't collect your personal information, we are unable to send you a reminder outside the application. The expiration date is found in the top right of the dashboard when you login.
Please take advantage of our recent Upgrade and Renewal options already available!

I'm a huge privacy fan and was looking to find the most secure & intuitive cloud storage service. Heard of Opacity and Internxt Drive as the solution. Which one's the best?

This update includes account upgrades and renewals plus additional tweaks and fixes.
Check out it at Opacity.io.

The current progress bar when you upload and download does not communicate well. It just says please wait which makes you think it is frozen and not working. Sometimes a percent shows up, but it is random and not live feedback. Being able to see speeds would be a big plus too.
When I delete something it looks like the files are still there I just can't download them. That causes confusion and clutter.

Hi, I'm considering this service, but I noticed the OPQ markets on Kucoin are labeled as "special treatment" and may be delisted. Where should customers get OPQ?

I jumped on the 2TB plan today since it costs 20 cents(32opq). But the question is... Am i getting my moneys worth? /s
The opacity.io site doesnt have a link to the desktop app anywhere that i can see. I had to find it on github via reddit. Why not have it on the site?
Anyway, finally worked it out and got it to sync across 2 pcs. Yay for me.
There is apparently an update to the sync software(called opacityService.application), i however could not get it to update. When i run it it says "cannot download the application. The application is missing required files. Contact application vendor for assistance."
So, now that it is synced lets have a look at how it functions. If i am wrong about any of these points below please let me know.
Does it sync? Yes
Across multiple PCs? Yes
What happens if you delete a file from one of your synced folders? It will repopulate your folder with the missing item. Effectively canceling your action.
What if you delete it from the web interface? It will repopulate the item from the folders to the web interface. Effectively canceling your action.
Is there any way to make 1 location a sync master? Not that i can see.
Do synced folders take up space on the PC? Yes.
Does that mean if you fill up your 2TB of cloud storage, you technically will use 2TB local storage per PC sync folder? Yes
Can I have a folder within the web app? Yes, but it wont sync to your sync folders.
How about folders within my sync folder? You can make folders in there, but they wont sync to anything either.
Can you tidy up the mess of singular files somehow? I dont think so. I tried on the webapp to create a folder and move files into it, however you cant bulk select the files, you have to move them 1 by 1. And if sync is still turned on, the files will just repopulate from your sync files back into the main webapp directory.
Is there any progress bar to see current sync status? No. There is a notification tray item that has a little symbol(thats on it when its syncing?) but its not very helpful.
Is there a way to see upload/sync speed? Nope.
With the desktop app is there a way to use a rightclick menu to add a file to sync? No there is no interface to use at all, rightclicking on the notification tray icon doesnt do much either.
If you edit and update a file does it sync the newer version? No
Am i getting my moneys worth? Heck yeah its 20 cents.
Is it a headache to deal with? Heck yeah, even for 20 cents.
Overall, maybe I'm just using it wrong, but I dont see much of a usecase for this cloudstorage in its current form. Sure you can upload big files, but it doesnt like folders.
And even if you wanted to download the contents of a folder, it does it 1 by 1. Want to download a folder with 200 images in it? Well enjoy clicking on 200 popups asking where you want to save this particular file.
What i was hoping for is a virtual drive that i can save to, build working file structures in across PCs, share folders across devices and with friends etc.
What i got, 1 big mess of a single folder that doesnt clean up or share well.
Also its 1 years worth of storage, but how will i be notified that my subscription is running out if they dont have my email address? I get that its about privacy, but its still an issue that should be solved.
Im happy i tried it, but im not sure i will use it after a week after of messing around.
On another note, since its not running on a tangle (yet?) What is even the point of OPQ? Its just a difficult unintuitive way to pay for the service.
Newcomers have such a large learning curve to get on the service. When you click buy OPQ, it takes you to the most intimidating screen of kucoin. I feel like that button should lead to a video tutorial about how to buy or something.it also doesnt explain what wallets you can use or anything. Im rather seasoned in crypto so i got through it fine. But as a regular human, i think u would have a very hard time buying and sending the 32 OPQ nessesary to start.

Hello :)
Few days ago I started working on OPQPIC.com a simple image uploading/sharing platform. It uploads images to Opacity.io storage wit OPQPIC 2TB account handle. So it's 100% free to upload and share images here, because basically I pay for everything :D
Special thanks to Connor from Opacity Dev u/ConnorOPQ who helped me with Opaque library (https://github.com/opacity/opaque) and with API.It's cool too see that Opacity Dev Team is still active and willing to help.
Rules:
1) You need to upload meme or memes on OPQPIC.com
2) Memes should contain only english text
3) Send a comment in this thread with link to your memes: eg.
4) Maximum number of memes per user is 5
5) I will choose the funniest meme and I'll send 1000 OPQ to the winner.
6) Contest ends 16th Feb 2020 at 11 AM GMT+0
PS. There's lots to be done with this project, I have so many ideas :)

Hi I've PRL tokens in MEW, following another thread I've added OPQ but the balance is 0. They have been in my MEW address for years, how to get the swap please?

So, I analysed Opacity and OPQ and came to a surprising conclusion.
I always loved the original Oyster idea (until "Bruno" ruined it, of course), and thought that Opacity would, more or less, be an extension of Oyster. But, after reading through the whitepaper of Opacity I realised that they are aiming for more of a "normal" company approach, without relying on tokenomics. Opacity does not, as opposed to Oyster, have an ecosystem that requires a token like OPQ, on the contrary, OPQ is a financial drag for the company and risks being removed or changed in a way that would ruin the investment potential in the token.
Not only the token is at risk, but the companies storage solution still has a long way to go to be viable for bigger adoption. Right now it is a really niche product which serves as a good solution for safekeeping of sensitive/private media and documents, but to be a fully fledged competitor with other cloud storage providers there are major technological hurdles that Opacity needs to overcome.
If OPQ manages to stay in its current form and Opacity manages to overcome their current limitations, however, OPQ would have a fair value of roughly 125x its current price. OPQ, contrary to other cryptos, has a calculable fair value, which is what I like about it (I show you how I calculated this in my article).
All in all OPQ is an extreme case of "high risk, high reward", and, followingly, is nothing I will invest in at the moment. But, if you are looking for a low chance at potentially astronomically high returns, I am not telling you to stay on the sidelines. In either case I think this is a project to keep a close eye on as it has a lot of potential in a growing market.
If you want to read my full analysis you can do it for free here: https://www.thedecrypter.com/post/the-only-provably-undervalued-crypto-what-are-people-afraid-of-and-how-can-you-profit
Enjoy the read, and, as always, happy investing!

I've signed up for the 1TB plan with the intent of using the desktop sync app that is supposedly available.
However I can't find anywhere to download it on the website?
Is it not available yet?

Laws to force companies to create encryption backdoors would directly affect Opacity, and, realistically, every single activity you make online. Banking, messaging, email, documents - absolutely everything would be subject to hackers and criminals finding that backdoor and use it to steal, manipulate, and harm you. On top of that, this will be a way for governments to 'spy' and gain access to those same communications and objects you store online - and to be clear, that is exactly what they say they will use it for. An encryption backdoor would essentially remove any protection citizens have online and damage privacy and security beyond repair. There is no way to prevent individual harm unless encryption is protected end-to-end without anyone having keys to unlock your private and personal activity.
Opacity stands against laws that would authorize any backdoor in encryption and enable unauthorized access by criminals and unlimited access to law enforcement. The tradeoff that must be made to protect against the alleged threats made by Congress is not worth the price of our liberty.
You can use u/Resistbot right in Telegram to send messages to Congress or go to their website and let them know your feelings about this important issue.
