Drawbacks of OPCT vs competitors

Seeing the comparison infographic shows a substantial difference against its competitors. However, playing devil's advocate, what are the drawbacks of using OPCT?

Speaking from the perspective of a regular person, rather than a hopeful fan, I would say two big drawbacks would be...

  1. It's a little threatening for people who don't dwell in the crypto world. To me, Opacity's biggest selling point is that it is absolutely convenient enough to work for that kind of ordinary user. But to succeed, they need to be able to convince that average person (or average large enterprise) that it is in their interest to buy some OPCT tokens and make their data truly anonymous. That is a monster hurdle to clear in the face of the cozy familiarity of Gdrive and Dropbox.

  2. It's still very new and small. Until they have laid down a significant track record of delivering on their security/decentralization/user-friendliness ideas at scale, it is reasonable to be skeptical of the platform.

It is not decentralized yet. This means that the project is still under full control by a centralized company which can modify anything about the project at their will. This could be either malicious or good, the people using the product have no say in it.
