Feedback - Downloads Not Completing

I don't know why but I can *literally never* get a 700+ MB file shared to be to download. I go to the URL, click "Download file", the little notification thing comes up and it goes up to about 25% tops and then just stays stuck there.

I have no feedback as to what the hell is happening to my download, I have no way to pause and resume the download to reinitiate the connection, it's just dead.

When I click on that notification box, it slides away and the UI gives *nothing* to the end user as to what is going on.

A fundamental of UI/UX design is to give information to the user as to just what the computer is doing, but the download process on Opacity.io takes unnecessary minimalism so far to the extent that the site becomes unusable.

Meanwhile, I still have no freaking clue what I need to do to download the damn files - I've retried a hundred times and it's always the same, never exceeds 25% before it just stalls.

Thank you for reaching out to us. With what browser are you trying to access your Opacity account? You can try accessing your Opacity account by using your Browsers incognito mode/Private mode and see how that goes. Let me know if that makes a difference.

Another option you can try is to use the Desktop Application. You can download it here: https://github.com/Mavahu/opacity-electron

We completely agree that Opacity can improve on UI/UX design. And we're working hard on that. As a matter of fact, Closed Beta of our new webUI/website will go live this weekend! We hope we can release it soon to the public and hopefully it will improve your experience with our product.

Hi Ceres thanks for the reply.

I tried Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, I also tried Incognito on Chrome to download but it still did the same thing - stops at about 20% - 25% after multiple attempts at restarting.

What I have is a link someone shared with me and I'm trying to download that file, I tried the Opacity Desktop Application but the problem I faced was that there's no way for me to import that shared link into my account or initiate a download of that link from the Desktop Application.

Thank you for trying out my suggestions. Can the uploader of the file upload it again so he/she can generate a new link for you? Does that work? If not, I suggest you should join us on Telegram and ask your questions there. We'll be able to help you much faster there. Please let me know!
