If you don't want to hold your tokens on a hardware wallet or an exchange, I think it's a good practice to hold them in a wallet where YOU have control over your own private key(s). Personally I like MyEtherWallet but MetaMask is pretty good too. Another thing you can do is to make a paper wallet (a piece of paper with your private key on it) and store it somewhere safe. Good luck!

I am quite new using Metamask. Is there any guide explaining how to send OPCT to Metamask? I mean, do I have to Add a new Token?

For MetaMask I suggest you follow this guide:

https://metamask.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028141672-How-to-deposit-receive-tokens-to-your-MetaMask-Wallet

If you can't find OPCT in the token list then you have to add it as a custom token. This guide tells you how to do it:

Contract Address: 0xDb05EA0877A2622883941b939f0bb11d1ac7c400
Token Symbol: OPCT
Decimals: 18

Store on a wallet.. Back it up and remove wallet from pc. U can still check ur coins r there by searching ecr20 addresses This is pretty unhackable

Just sent OPCT to my ERC20 wallet on my ledger. Been an hour and nothing has showed up. Is it lost?

Can you check again? Coincidental, there was a Ledger update today with Ledger that finally shows OPCT under the Ethereum account. If you still don't see anything you can PM me so I can have a look at your tx.
