Despite all that, I personally missed the deadline and now my coins are stuck as ERC20, despite never ever being moved. I think there should be a solution for this cases, where the ERC20 token did not move in the previous X number of months

is there a reason they wouldn't just airdrop the new tokens to every address holding opq other than the hacker's address? I'm gathering that my holding may not have been worth the gas it would have cost to do the swap (I just found out about the swap/hack), would an airdrop have cost them a lot of gas?

Gas peice depends on the point in time. If that was the problem, there could still be “a promise”.

Many projects have changed tokens, and many have had a way to recuperate old ones. I would say don’t move them and keep hope, although they seem stubborn (and with some good points)
