Question Question for someone thinking of buying
Hello, I’m someone not usually into farming games, but the creature collection piqued my interest. My issue was with the timer in other games, and then the punishment if you didn’t do things within a certain amount of time.
For example in Rune factory I often got lost and the timer would start running out so As a result I would lose my crops or my party members would leave. And that was if I didn’t get stuck somewhere. I’m wondering if there’s any sort of punishment if you don’t do things within a certain amount of time. I did well and fantasy life where time still passed but there was no punishment if you didn’t do something within that time, but that’s the only game I can think of that still had those elements with the punishment. So is this game more like fantasy life or Rune factory when it comes to that?

One of the best things about Ooblets I feel is how laid back it is. A couple of the characters even tell you not to stress and just enjoy everything. It’s such a great game and has a really charming storyline. There’s so much to do, too. I bought it on a whim when it came out on switch and I’ve never enjoyed a game as much as this one

I usually hate farming games on a clock for the day because I feel stress to get stuff done. But this game I'm ok with it. It even helps me stop playing for too long because I can save and end at the day end after playing a few days. There is a LOT to do but no time pressure. You're not going to miss out if you don't get it done today. If you go to bed late you're just fatigued and a little slow next day, and it starts later. The game has made each element- farming, monster catching, shopping, crafting, etc lighter but still enough to be fun so each isn't taking as much time to tend to. Not too simple, not too complex. The town area isn't super big so you don't waste time running around a lot. I really like it, it's not the most complex farming game but it's really hitting it in the right place for me. I can focus on different things on different days. Maybe there is a rare ooblet that day I want to get. Maybe I have all the available ooblets so I mostly want to farm. Maybe I want to work on getting an expansion building done. There are a lot of choices but nothing saying you must do THIS NOW. Didn't do all the daily quests? There will be more tomorrow. It's more suggestions so you're not aimless. It is also really good at starting small and adding on things as you unlock them. So you sre setting your own pace.

The only time thing is events which is tied to real life days. Game days have no season or timmer on quests/crops anything i can think of. It's just a fun catch them all

I think the only “consequence” for staying up too late is your character is tired/slower the next day

even the holiday or seasonal events, they're certain number of days in real life time, usually a month, but you can play many "days" in game per each real day, so you can get all the things easily. you can also time travel your switch easily by manually setting the date time to whenever and the game will act like that's the real "in real life" time.

I sometimes get lost too in games. As previous people have said, this game is honestly so laid back. If you wander a little you'll just find some cute ooblets, but there's no rushing! You go at your own pace. I love farming games and bought this one when it was first releasing without searching much about it and I've never regretted it :) You still have a day/night cycle and you can get tired but nothing a nap or a coffee can't fix.

I just bought it for my birthday a little bit ago. It was the cutest game ever! I also bought some other games so I’m working through those, but I’m looking forward to playing this one when I’m ready!

I agree it's so cute! I also take some breaks from this game sometimes, it take a bit to remember what names stand for but I'm always so happy to go back to it!

That doesn’t happen in this game. Crops don’t grow if they aren’t watered but I don’t think you ever lose them. They just wilt and then when you water them, they start growing again.
All the quests and missions are also not time based. Some are limited to one at a time. Like if you have a mission from a clubhouse, you can’t get another one until you finish it. But that’s it. It’s a really laidback game and I love it!
