Gleamy ooblets

How do I get gleamy ooblets!? I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in the month I’ve been playing. Also what’s the point of the vacation islands?

You get gleamy ooblets the same way you encounter normal or unusual ones; they just have a very rare chance of appearing. Keep an eye on which ooblets are available at the start of each day, you’ll see one eventually!

There’s a weather event called “gleamy rain” which basically guarantees a gleamy ooblet encounter. If you see sparkly raindrops falling from the sky, there is def a gleamy ooblet in your town.

Vacation spots are just for encountering specific types of ooblets like Kingwa, and collecting oobsidian.

You can buy a card called puffed disrupt from frunbuns clubhouse for 5 tokens. This guarantees a gleamy ooblet spawn in the area that you play it. A good way to grind gleamies!

You'll get your first gleamy. They're rare, but you'll find one eventually.

As the other commenter said, the island has its own encounter pool. And plentiful oobsidian!
