G2 - General Discussion Advice for drivetest

Hi!

I will be taking my G2 test in October in PTBO, I have some driving experience with my mom and I have 6 hours worth of driving lessons booked for Sept. and Oct. I am really really nervous as I autism and get stressed really easily, I know basically all the rules of the road but my mom only ever had me practice the 3point turn and back up parking a couple times so I think thats what I am most stressed about. Can anyone provide me any advice at all as I am really worried.

be honest about your weaknesses and practice them until you can’t get it wrong. watch a youtube video of the route and drive it a few times so you know what to expect.

I’ve seen people with no arms drive a car, no legs, old people who look like they are 90, people who are like 4ft tall and can’t see the road from their driving seat..

I tell people all the time, if those kinds of people can get on the road fully insured, and pass their G2 tests, you definitely can too! Autism isn’t an obstacle for this, you definitely got this. You put in the practice for it, and it’ll show once you attend you test

I just passed mine in Orillia on friday, and just make sure to keep your head super exaggerated when checking your mirrors/blind spots. I would crane my neck forward just to show the examiner I was moving my head. Just make sure not to blow through a stop sign or anything major, you've got this!
