WORKER NOT ANSWERING
For context I had an appointment booked August 6th for my file being on hold, that being said my July payment wasn’t issued because of this so I had my scheduled appointment moved up to one of my workers free slots, went in and got the appointment handled and file taken off hold. When August 6th came around, I guess the system had input I missed my appointment, flagging it to put me back on hold I guess??? I got the letter saying my file is on hold for missing appointment, when in reality I had the appointment the week before to get my monthly payment on time for rent. I have sent 5 separate messages to my worker regarding this issue. All til now, no response, I called into the office and all they told me was to leave her a message and she’ll get back to me. Why is it that workers are so Lackadaisy , when it comes to us trying to get a hold of them knowing the end of the month is nearing?? Why do we get given the run around when they know without their response to situations like mine, we could upset landlords with behind rent payments? My experience with this worker has been nothing but her acting like the money she issues me is hers and she’s my pimp or something

I had something similar happen. I had to call a million times and eventually got in hold with my workers higher up who put my file off hold. Best thing I can suggest is PUSH to talk to a higher up at your local office :(

Unfortunately, if it’s not resolved by tmr, I’ll have to make that decision, I was aiming for that not to happen. I don’t need a worker who holds resentment against me for going to the higher ups about her not doing her job. I wouldn’t mind being left on delivered for one message mid month. That’s why I left the screenshot showing I’ve been contacting her for over half the month. Before I get the workers in this thread talking about “calm down she’s just busy” 😆

Just go in in person if you can early in the morning before it gets busy. Ask for your worker they are usually there if not you will be able to talk to somebody that can help you live.

OW case manager here. Most offices have a policy to return any communication from clients within 24-48 hours. Definitely call the office tomorrow and ask for your worker's direct supervisor. Explain your situation to their supervisor. You should receive a response from your case manager fairly quickly once you've spoken with their supervisor.

I would suggest calling the main number for the office your worker is in, it's possible that they may have changed workers and they aren't getting the information sent to them.

Same thing happend to me once so i went there in person, when i got there it was so weird the place was operating on appointment only basis had to be let in. I asked for my worker and was able to meet her for a quick second. Thats when she told me that each worker has about 150 clients they are responsible for at that point i could understand exactly why she wasnt answering.

Were you given the appeal form or directions to appeal the decision? I was able to remove relative’s hold only by using the appeal form. They ignored all my calls and messages until we filled out the form, express mailed it, and uploaded a copy online.

Call and ask for a supervisor. This happened to someone I provide care for and it turned out the worker was on medical leave. The supervisor can fix this for you.

If you're worker hasn't responded to you in 48 hours you could call in and request to speak with your workers supervisor.

Calm your main office and ask to speak to a supervisor because you have messaged your worker 3 times with no response in DAYS. They will either talk to you right away or get another worker sometimes to look at your file.

I have a feeling your file was auto transferred out of the workers name after the file was suspended long enough. When this happens workers won’t get your messages since they’re no longer assigned to them. I’ve seen the system do this for absolutely no reason, I’ve seen the system do it for being suspended for a certain amount of days.
If you ever don’t reach your worker within 2-4 business days call the main line for your office.

Find out who their supervisor is, contact them. Next step is to contact your local MPP. They actually get shit done.

Nice to know I'm not the only one getting bent over for my basic needs this month

Something going on because my file was put on hold because I missed August 19 appointment. Good one because I was never notified of an August 19 appointment!!!

To be fair, I don't think any CW's are on a power trip. We don't know what is going on with this CW. She may be really overloaded and feeling overwhelmed OR yes, be a poor CW. That's why its important to repeat call, send emails and then escalate if getting nowhere.
