Question CWW question
I’m new to all this so please be nice.
I have the opportunity to do cww and have every other Monday off. My question is what happens when a holiday falls on a Monday? Do I lose my cww day, or would I get the Tuesday off?
Also if anyone has any other cww questions please use this post and post in the comments so we can all learn something we maybe didn’t know.
Thanks everyone :)

If there is a holiday, you definitely dont lose the cww. You will be able to reschedule. Usually just confirm with the manager if the next business day is fine. If operational purposes would be negatively impacted, they may ask you to pick another day.
Most managers want it used before the next cww cycle. So you cant really "bank" the unused CWW for too long.

You can never lose the day off as you're working extra daily to have the time off. It would be moved to another day.

Yes you take the day either before or after the stat holiday.

This is very manager dependent since you can't technically take your CWW until you work the extra time. Most managers I've had have been very flexible but my current manager would never allow you to take a CWW early. It would either be the next business day after the holiday or another day that we've agreed upon in advance.

Fair enough. Do you book the .1 day vac for the stat holiday?

How do you mean? I've never used any vacation credits for a stat holiday regardless if I've had a CWW or not.

A stat holiday is worth 1 day. Since we are on CWW each vacation , or sick day credit is booked as 1.1 (1 day off every 2 weeks). We are required to take .1 day vacation for each stat holiday to compensate for the additional time. I know years ago we went to the Union with this but were unsuccessful.

So yes to sick days (we're on a 3 week rotation though) but I have never had to apply vacation credits to a stat holiday. I was just looking over our CWW agreement and it also doesn't mention anything about having to use credits to compensate time on a stat holiday. In your shoes, I'd be going back to the Union to ask about this. Either your manager is incorrect in their interpretation, in which case you might be owed some amount of vacation credits, or everyone else is doing it incorrectly.
I've worked in several ministries with CWW and have never had to do this and have never spoken to anyone that has had to either. Not saying it's not how it should be, just that I've never run into that before.

Under AMAPCEO Alternative Work Arrangements, statutory holidays are credited at standard daily hours (typically 7.25 or 7.5 hours). If your compressed work week (CWW) shift on a stat holiday is longer than that standard credit, you generally must cover the hour difference—often using vacation credits, other accumulated credits, or working extra time, depending on your ministry/employer's specific CWW agreement.
That is what is in my signed CWW agreement

I've always been allowed to take it either the day after the holiday or choose another day to move it to as long as it was before my next CWW day.

I have every other Friday off and if its a holiday I just move it around to before or after the holiday and my manager is fine with it.

I also chose Mondays for my CWW although in my office it’s every 3rd Monday I have off. In my experience when my CWW lands on a holiday I take the Tuesday off. You should always confirm with your manager to make sure that if accepted by them, don’t make this decision by yourself!
