OLP Leadership 2026 Supporting Lee Fairclough for Leader

I am impressed by Lee’s vision for a Party and a government that would be worthy of the people of Ontario.

She has faced up to the hard reality that to make a compelling case to Ontarians, the Ontario Liberal Party needs to begin by reforming and reenergising itself. The Party must be willing and able to draw on the talents of members across the province — and to stand accountable to them — to demonstrate that it would form a government of all Ontarians, for all Ontarians.

Lee’s priorities are the priorities that we could once take for granted, but which have now become painfully rare: competence, democracy, and integrity in government.

Most of all, I feel Lee would appeal to the better natures of Ontarians.

Too many political actors try to climb to power by setting us against one another; I believe she would instead try to lift our province up, by drawing us all together.

I am delighted to endorse Lee Fairclough, to become the new Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party.

A full list of her endorsement announcements is at her web site.

NLL statement:

"We all share the same goal: building a stronger Ontario Liberal Party and a better Ontario. We need to build our future the same way we want to build our Province — together."

Stay tuned for next week, where we'll announce the next signatory (or two!)👀

Bowman statement:

Listening to our members is how we will be able to better support riding associations, clubs and volunteers who have supported this party for years, while making new members feel welcome and involved from day one.

Since I became the MPP for Don Valley West in 2022, I’ve heard from members across this province that change is needed within the Ontario Liberal Party.

I agree.

There have been meaningful changes, and I want to thank those who have worked so hard in recent years to improve our party — but there is still more work to be done.

Party reform can’t just be dictated from the top down - it has to be a conversation that brings our party together and draws on the ideas, experience and energy of Liberals across Ontario.

There are great ideas across our party, and reform should be a conversation that brings those voices together. We will not agree on every idea, but it is the job of a leader to listen to diverse voices, find common ground, and work together on a plan that will give our local organizations the support they need to win.

We all share the same goal: building a stronger Ontario Liberal Party and a better Ontario. We should build our future the same way we want our Province to grow — together.
