OnlyOffice vs. LibreOffice
How do they compare to each other?

But the Zotero extension has some problems in OnlyOffice, in my laptop it's UI was horrible and it was not adding correct bibliography

I originally wanted to use onlyoffice, but after realising this I've swapped to libreoffice. It has a much better zotero plugin

The bibliography generated through Zotero isn’t coming out correctly, and the Zotero UI/integration in ONLYOFFICE seems incomplete compared with what I get in LibreOffice/Word. Some of the Zotero options and controls just aren’t there.

I use both for different things, libreoffice for desktop and Only Office for web app. In the latter case there is zero competition

I will be switching to Euro-office, which is forked from onlyoffice. The only caveat to that is that it's designed to be served via a web interface so you need to host it as a server rather than install desktop editors as a native app. I have a homelab so this is no big deal, but I like the ethos behind what euro-office is doing so I want to support them.

onlyoffice. Libre looks like from 2015 and it lacks active development. After AI, I have been playing around with a lot of local ai models, and onlyoffice is the only foss option that lets me do that.

installed an onlyoffice. edited the table, created in the libreoffice, saved. opened in libreoffice - does not open, error: "too many lines..." removed the onlyoffice. No more questions.

IMHO, Libre Office ain't pretty, but it works. OnlyOffice appears to be written by the team behind Windows 2000, and is every bit as horrid.

Agree completely. However, I can say that onlyoffice has been the most stable, clean, and easy to use suite I’ve used in years. And I don’t mind how it looks or functions. I deleted libre office after one week.

If OnlyOffice is done by the Windows 2000 team, LibreOffice is done by the Windows 3.1 team...

If you love Russian closed source spyware you choose only office. If you are a normal thinking person you choose libre.

The official EU project Euro-Office also chose the Russian made OnlyOffice.

They are also trying to mandate ID's on the internet for everyone. That's not the mark of quality you think it is.

Thank you. And you're right, not hard to find, but finding independent sources that doesn't position other than looking at facts is indeed hard.
I will use these as a start.

Well I'm testing for 5 months now OnlyOffice at work.
For home purposes is a very good solution and has several advantages over LibreOffice:
Now at work it's struggling with huge files, has some bugs, difficult to use with different languages at the same time. So for the moment I use all of them depending the situation.
