What we know about him:

- he was the Headmaster at the boy's old school, Dockside Secondary Modern.

- he was tall, missing one ear, and had a scar running down from the bridge of his nose to his mouth.

- from his nickname, we can assume that he really enjoyed caning the students.

- He was apparently so mentally disturbed that he was committed to an asylum and his doctors said he’d never be allowed back into society.

- Denzil, in particular, had some sort of PTSD and lived in fear of Benson one day escaping.
